Spanish Wells
Known throughout the Bahamas, as the fishing capital and for it’s hardworking people, Spanish Wells is one of the better known small settlements throughout the nation. The settlement has the only private power plant in the country and the most stable and reliable electricity.
Saint George’s Cay the island that Spanish Wells is located on, is also attached by bridge to Russells Island and are regarded as the same community.
Vessels from all over The Bahamas come to Spanish Wells for boat work. Their marine mechanics are known to be some of the best in all of North America.

Swimming with the Pigs on Meeks Patch
Less than two and a half miles off Charles Island is Eleuthera’s world famous Swimming with the Pigs. Originally becoming popular and famous from the Exuma Swimming Pigs, this unique Bahamian pastime is now in Eleuthera. Charles Island is one of the closest, if not the closest, island from these adorable aqua athletes.

Spanish Wells Sandbar
A day out in the sun collecting sand dollars is only minutes from Charles Island. Then be back just as quick to Spanish Wells and for a cold drink and a bite, before returning back to Charles Island.
The Spanish Wells Sandbar is where many local tour operators take their clients for a quick day trip.

Gun Point Beach
The beach at gun point is on a beautiful peninsula on the way towards Harbour Island. It is the first of many beaches along this route and is just off the shores of Spanish Wells and Charles Island. Check out more of them in our Beach Bound above tab.

Harbour Island
With one of the largest populations outside of Nassau, Harbour Island is one of the better known secrets of The Bahamas. Known for its Pink Sand beaches, history, mega yacht marinas, and large yet small feel, it is the perfect island for a boat and beach trip from Charles Island.
Harbour Island is an out island mega yacht hub. All of these yachts have to pass only a few feet from the shores of Charles Island. Many stop for a local guide but do not stay due to the lack of mega yacht slips around Spanish Wells.

Glass Window Bridge
South of Harbour Island on mainland Eleuthera is this one of a kind experience. Bahamians call it the 7th wonder of the world… Glass Window Bridge is where one can stand on a narrow “bridge” of rock that separates the shallow Great Bahama Bank from the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
